Voss Aerospace Named 100% Supplier of High Performance Couplings & Flanges That Will Connect the Pneumatic Bleed Air, De-Icing, Cabin Pressurization & Environmental System Ducting for the New Airbus A380

CLEVELAND — August 12, 2003 — A 5-year long-term agreement with Airbus to supply NSA 8600 series flanges, NSA 8601 series couplings, and ABS 1407 series flanges, couplings and E-seals for all air ducting requirements on the new A380 is announced by Voss Aerospace, a division of Voss Industries, Inc.

"This award," notes Dan Sedor, president, Voss Industries, "is the result of an extensive collaborative effort with Airbus to design, engineer, tool, prototype, and test V-Retainer couplings & flanges for 9-in. diameter center run ducting — the largest ever used in a commercial aerospace application. The pneumatic cabin pressurization and environmental ducting runs will range from 222 to 260-feet per aircraft. Wingspan for the de-icing ducting runs is 261.83 feet. In all, Voss will supply 500+ parts for each A380 aircraft.

"In addition, this agreement includes our supplying NSA 8600 series flanges and NSA 8601 series couplings for all current Airbus production models. As a direct result, Voss will be supplying nearly 70 percent of Airbus' total needs for this series of parts."

As the primary supplier of these parts, Voss Aerospace becomes the supplier of choice to other Airbus suppliers who will use Voss V-retainer couplings and flanges in their sub-assemblies.
