The 8742A Series of low impedance, voltage mode accelerometers are designed for impact and impulse shock or general-purpose vibration measurements
Kistler Instrument Corp.eries of low impedance, voltage mode accelerometers are designed for impact and impulse shock or general-purpose vibration measurements. Weighing 4.5 grams, the series features a thermally stable shear quartz-sensing element.

The series is available in four ranges of 5, 10, 20 and 50k with sensitivities of 1, 0.5, 0.25, and 0.1 mV/g respectively. All units feature a hermetically sealed, stainless steel housing construction. An integral base-mounting stud assures accurate measurement of short duration transient events. These sensors can be powered by a variety of Kilter Piezotron Coupler/Signal Condi-tion-ers or from any industry standard IEPE power source.
