The VME-400 is a high performance, multi-protocol
VME solution to your communication requirements,
supporting up to four 8/32MHz Industry Pack (IPack)
modules.
The VME-400 is a high performance, multi-protocol
VME solution to your communication requirements,
supporting up to four 8/32MHz Industry Pack (IPack)
modules. This new generation of intelligent carrier boards
is powered by a StrongArm 200MHz RISC processor and
comes with 1-2Mb of SRAM and 16Mb of shared memory,
permitting it to buffer and process high-bandwidth
communication between the VME host and the IPack
interface modules. The On-board firmware allows scheduling
of transmit messages and time-tags received messages with
32-bit microsecond precision, without requiring real-time intervention from the host system. Furthermore, multiple
carrier boards can be time-synchronized resulting in
unmatched precision in critical real-time applications.
The VME-400 is complemented by MAX Technologies'
IPack modules available for ARINC429/575/561/568/629,
ASYNC RS422/485, CSDB, MIL-STD-1553A/B, 1760B, MacAir,
STANAG3838, Digital I/O, A/D, D/A communication protocols.
The VME-400 can also support hundreds of third-party digital
and analog IPack modules. Moreover, multiple protocols can be
implemented and run simultaneously on a single VME-400
carrier board and all the data transferred is time-synchronized,
even between multiple protocols. Finally, the IPack module I/O
signals are conveniently routed to two high-density DSUB front
connectors for easy interfacing with external communication
devices.
