Tank Wall Processor Unit

Control By Lightptically-powered Tank Wall Processing Unit (OTWP) is an intelligent, ultra-low-power digital multiprocessing unit which is immune to electromagnetic effects (EME), electrostatic discharge, lightning, and high-intensity radiated fields (HIRF).

Using optical fiber instead of traditional copper wire eliminates all conductive paths between aircraft systems and in-tank fuel quantity measurement devices. The unit provides data acquisition and fuel probe monitoring for up to 15 probes per OTWP, and is packaged in an enclosure suitable for direct attachment to the tank wall connector. Multiple OTWPs are connected to form a redundant ring using the certified fiber optic network to share and report measurements to the fuel quantity indicating system.
