The SMS-III is a portable, laser-optical device that can be taken anywhere in the field or shop floor to make accurate dimensional measurements of scratches or surface irregularities. Precise width, depth, and peak-to-peak measurements of gaps, scratches, mis-matches and other surface conditions can be made in seconds with the SMS-III. An on-board video feed provides real-time analysis, while a touch screen LCD captures a 'snapshot' of the image for later analysis. The results can then be printed or downloaded to a data collector.
