LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Structural Research & Analysis Corp. (SRAC), a leading developer of design analysis software for engineering professionals, today announced the donation of 5 seats of COSMOS/Works™ to the Mechanical-Electrical Engineering department of Peru's Universidad de Piura. Valued at $30,000, the contribution allows students to participate in real-life design situations as well as local technology events.

After encountering problems with the construction of models, Professor Chuman, from the design and mechanical technology laboratory, turned to COSMOS/Works because of its meshing capacities and associativity with SolidWorks®. Professor Chuman and his mechanical colleagues anticipate using COSMOS/Works in courses such as Materials Strength, Mechanical Design I, and Mechanical Design II. Students will evaluate the behavior of various 3D models, while comparing the results with the program's current software.

COSMOS/Works is a powerful, easy to use design analysis and optimization software fully embedded within SolidWorks. COSMOS/Works is ideal for engineers who need analysis but are not specialists in FEA. COSMOS/Works offers robust design analysis capabilities including linear stress, thermal, kinematics, fluid flow, design optimization, nonlinear, and much more.
