Solid State Vertical Reference System and Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator

Solid State Vertical Reference System and Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator
Two new solid state designed products have been developed to replace older elctro-mechanical instrumentation
N/Aew solid state designed products have been developed to replace older elctro-mechanical instrumentation. Both the Vertical Reference System (VRS) and the Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator (EHSI) feature solid state designs and offer improved reliability over electro-mechanical units, enhanced cockpit presentation and additional functionality. The VRS-3000 can be installed in fixed wing aircraft, helicopters, drones, and remotely piloted vehicles. The HIS-3000 was designed to replace electro-mechanical HSIs and was developed for rugged military environments.

The VRS-3000 was designed as a replacement for conventional spinning mass type vertical gyroscopes and utilizes solid state rate and level sensors and provides traditional ARINC 407 synchro information for pitch and roll attitude.

The EHSI-3000 allows for pilot-commanded heading and course inputs on one flat panel 3in ATI Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display. The system requires +28vdc, weighs less than 3 pounds, interfaces via 1553 multiplex (MUX) bus, and was tested to MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461/462 environmental requirements. The unit features four basic functions for selection among four modes: ILS/TACAN, TACAN, NAV, and ILS/NAV.
