Aircraft Services Groupmergency Vision Assurance System) is FAA tested and certified to ensure pilot vision in the presence of dense continuous smoke. With the system, pilots are able to see the flight path and vital instruments as well as read approach plates and emergency procedures. The Inflatable Vision Unit (IVU), once deployed by the flight crew, inflates in 15 to 20 seconds. The IVU is filled with filtered cabin air from particles down to 0.1 micron. The clean air inside the unit provides a clear window to enable unobstructed vision of the critical instruments and the flight path through the windscreen. The unit will not restrict the pilot's operation of the aircraft controls.
