Ridge Runner Crowned Grand Champion At Experimental Aircraft Association AirVenture

Nampa, ID - Rocky Mountain Wings' Ridge Runner, a light sport model was crowned as 2006 Grand Champion in light aircraft category at Air Venture Oshkosh. The aircraft was judged by the Experimental Aircraft Association, Inc. (EAA) which found the Ridge Runner III the best in versatility, creativity and performance, according to Rocky Mountain Wings.

The Ridge Runner design sported a tandem two-seater with a tube and fabric construction. A key feature, the quick-fold, high wing design, allows the wings to be folded back without disconnecting any controls, so it can readily be stored in a garage or a shared hangar and returned to flight readiness in minutes, according to Rocky Mountain Wings. With take-off and landing rolls of between 50 and 100 feet and stall speeds of 26 to 28 mph, the Ridge Runner can land in some pretty tight places, adds the company.

The Ridge Runner III is available as a Special Light Sport Aircraft (S-LSA), Experimental Light Sport Aircraft (E-LSA) or as a kit. The S-LSA model comes with a Rotax 912 engine, Ward Drive propeller and basic VFR functionality.
