Real-Time Spectrum Analysis Detects Elusive IEEE 802.15.4 And ZigBee Bursts

By Tektronix, Inc.

Wireless Private Area Network (WPAN) devices emit identifying signal bursts that come and go, eluding capture by conventional spectrum analyzers. Tektronix' unique family of Real-Time Spectrum Analyzers (RTSA) offers a versatile Frequency Mask Trigger that makes it easy to capture complex intermittent bursts from IEEE 802.15.4 and Zigbee wireless devices.

The RTSA seamlessly captures spectral data over time and delivers time-correlated views in multiple domains—frequency, time, modulation, and more. The accumulated time record makes it possible to evaluate events before and after the trigger.

The time correlated multi-domain view speeds your analysis with markers that reference the same event or instant in time in every view. Now it is simple to relate, for example, a frequency-domain event to its time-domain counterpart.
