P&WC Receives Transport Canada Certification For PW610F Engine
Longueuil, Quebec - Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. (P&WC), a United Technologies Corp. company, has received Transport Canada Type Certification for its new PW610F engine, set to power the Eclipse 500 very light jet (VLJ).
The PW610F engine, rated at 900 lbs. thrust is part of the P&WC's new PW600 engine family, which offers a step change in performance, cost and durability, claims the company. Designed with an approximately 50% reduction in parts count, the PW610F incorporates the latest technologies while offering optimum value to operators, according to P&WC.
The engine also features a dual-channel Full Authority Digital Electronic Control FADEC), which offers operational advantages over traditional control systems by reducing pilot workload, claims P&WC. Moreover, the dual-channel FADEC provides enhanced reliability, reduced weight, and ease of operation, adds the company.
