3M Adhesives Divison, Aerospace Central5 boots are designed to help protect radomes, wing and stabilizer tips, landing gear pods, composite parts, and other portions of aircraft from rain, moisture ingression, UV light, insects, sand, sleet, snow and most other airborne particle erosion damage.
The pre-formed boots are made of a transparent abrasion-resistant polyurethane, formulated for their resistance to ultraviolet light. They can be painted or applied over painted surfaces. The boots are constructed with a long-aging solvent resistant, pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive, protected with an easy-release liner.
