Pratt & Whitney Canada's PT6A-66A Turboprop Engine Selected for Ibis Aerospace Ae270HP

Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp.000, New Orleans, 9 October 2000 — <%=company%> (P&WC) is pleased to announce that the PT6A-66A turboprop engine has been selected for the Ibis Aerospace Ae270HP aircraft. The Ae270HP single engine aircraft is a high performance version of the PT6A-42A powered Ae270P aircraft, which celebrated its first flight in July 2000.

The PT6A-66A, certified in October 1998, will provide additional power to the Ae270 multi-mission aircraft, helping to tailor the HP model to the corporate market. The PT6 common core has provided the necessary growth capability to accommodate increasing power demands with minimum changes to the installation. Leadership in operating economics, reliability and durability are world-renowned traits of the PT6 engine.

This program marks Pratt & Whitney Canada's continued collaboration with Ibis Aerospace, a joint venture between Aero Vodochody of the Czech Republic and AIDC of Taiwan. Ibis Aerospace was formed to develop, market and support the Ae270 production aircraft.
