NSF-ISR Registers Avborne Accessory Group

J

Ann Arbor, MI and Miami, FL – Avborne Accessory Group, a division of SARGENT and Aerospace Repair Stations in the United States, recently announced registration to AS9110 by NSF International Strategic Registrations, Ltd. This is the first AS9110 registration issued by an accredited ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board LLC (ANAB) registrar, according to Avborne Accessory Group.

Avborne's registration follows NSF-ISR's recent accreditation to provide AS9110 registration services to aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities. The standard AS9110 Quality Maintenance Systems - Aerospace - Requirements for Maintenance Organizations defines maintenance requirements for commercial, private and military aircraft. AS9110 also combines ISO 9001:2000 requirements with aerospace-specific requirements for MRO facilities since proper maintenance is critical for an aircraft's ongoing safe operation.

"In addition to being the first organization in the U.S. to earn AS9110 registration, this registration demonstrates Avborne's overall commitment to quality, which is encouraging not only to the industry, but also to frequent travelers," said NSF-ISR President Kristen Holt. To obtain AS9110 registration Avborne fulfilled the following requirements:

  • Completed pre-assessment to initially evaluate the organization's quality management system
  • Passed documentation review
  • Completed an on-site initial audit
  • Completed additional reliability and maintenance preventative measures

Ongoing monitoring will ensure continued conformance to AS9110 requirements. By obtaining AS9110 registration, Avborne demonstrates that their quality management system consistently meets customer and regulatory requirements. AS9110 implementation also provides Avborne with a sound system to ensure safety and reliability.

"We have 320 employees who are completely dedicated to the quality, safety and reliability of our products," said Eddie Montalvo, Group VP, Sargent MRO Services. "Our quality objectives are customer satisfaction, on-time-delivery and continuous improvements. We are dedicated to quality and have a passion for the aerospace repair business."
