Nsf-Isr Receives As9110 Aerospace Accreditation

Ann Arbor, MI – In response to increasing client needs within the aerospace industry, NSF International Strategic Registrations, Ltd. (NSF-ISR) recently announced accreditation to AS9110 from the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board LLC (ANAB). NSF-ISR is the first and only registrar in North America to receive approval from ANAB to offer AS9110 registration.

As many airlines are outsourcing a growing number of their maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) activities, some of these activities are being contracted to suppliers with little experience in aerospace and aviation. The increased concerns regarding the ability to perform sufficient oversight of repair stations led to the development of standard AS9110 by the International Aerospace Quality Group. AS9110 Quality Maintenance Systems - Aerospace - Requirements for Maintenance Organizations includes maintenance requirements for commercial, private and military aircraft.

By obtaining AS9110 accreditation, NSF-ISR's clients will now have access to a complete portfolio of aerospace standards. AS9110 incorporates ISO 9001:2000 requirements with aerospace-specific requirements for MRO facilities since proper maintenance is critical for an aircraft's ongoing safe operation. MRO requirements also provide essential guidance for the Federal Aviation Administration.

Several airlines currently use federal requirements to approve repair stations, however AS9110 offers comprehensive requirements that can be applied to all levels of the MRO process. In general, AS9110 registration demonstrates that a company's quality management system consistently meets customer and regulatory requirements.

"This accreditation from ANAB demonstrates NSF-ISR's commitment to providing clients with the technical expertise and services they need to comply with new regulations," said NSF-ISR President Kristen Holt. "NSF-ISR was one of the first registrars accredited to offer registration to AS9100 – the aerospace quality system standard – and we're now expanding our portfolio of services by becoming the first to provide AS9110 registration under ANAB accreditation."

Clients that meet all AS9110 requirements will be awarded a certificate with the NSF-ISR AS9110 logo and listed on NSF-ISR's website: www.nsf-isr.org.
