Navy Awards Navigation Systems Contract To ARINC Engineering Services

Annapolis, MD - ARINC Engineering Services, LLC has been awarded a three-year prime contract by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego (SSC-SD) for engineering and technical support services. The $5,981,557 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract includes two one-year options, which could bring the cumulative value to $10,277,077 if fully exercised.

ARINC was the incumbent on a predecessor contract that expired in 2004.

Under the new agreement, ARINC Engineering Services and a team of 8 small-business subcontractors will support the SSC Navigation and Applied Sciences Department with integration, design, and analysis services for emerging technologies in navigation, air surveillance, and reconnaissance.

"ARINC and its team bring a depth of skill and expertise to all the task requirements under this contract," stated J.R. Scherer, ARINC Director, Navigation Systems. "We are delighted the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center recognizes these capabilities and has chosen to place confidence in us once again."

The base performance period of the new contract started in January, and five task orders have already been awarded. Task requirements under the award include development of emerging navigation technologies; evaluating the impact of evolving tactics/techniques on the integrity of navigation signals; system integration, engineering, design, testing, and analysis for emerging navigation and C4ISR technology on ships, aircraft, land vehicles, and ground stations; laboratory system enhancements to evaluate enabling technology; and identifying navigation-based issues that can threaten or enhance Homeland Security.
