The TSO-approved SL30 VHF Nav/Comm and SL70 Mode A/C Transponder provide an FAA-certified solution for flight into instrument meteorological conditions
UPS Aviation Technologiesroved SL30 VHF Nav/Comm and SL70 Mode A/C Transponder provide an FAA-certified solution for flight into instrument meteorological conditions. The Nav/Comm features digital signal processing technology that enables standard navigation of a VOR radial or localizer while digitally displaying intersecting radials from a second, monitored VHF navigation source. This feature allows the pilot to navigate to a VOR intersection using only one receiver. The navigation receiver automatically decodes VOR and ILS Morse code identifiers and displays the alphanumeric readout on the front panel.

The transponder digitally interprets the Omnirange Bearing Selector (OBS) value, and displays the selected VOR radial on the front panel. When paired with the Apollo GX50 GPS navigator or the GX60 or GX65 GPS/Comms, the transponder allows the pilot to select and tune them. The device's built-in memory allows the pilot to store up to 250 navigation or communications frequencies for easy recall and tuning. The unit automatically arranges the stored frequencies by identifier name and function.
