Lowell, MA - M/A-COM recently announced a new RoHS Compliant DECT Power Amplifier for applications that require dual power modes, high gain and small size at a low cost. The MAAPSS0076, with its wide voltage operating range, is a dual mode power amplifier that maximizes system performance while reducing DC Power consumption.

The MAAPSS0076 is a three stage power amplifier designed for Digitally Enhanced Cordless Telephone (DECT) applications and is available in a lead-free 3 mm 12-lead PQFN plastic package. The power amplifier features an integrated power enable pin for accurate ramp control and a separate power mode pin for current savings in a low power mode state. A voltage compensation circuit is also included for applications where the amplifier supply voltage is unregulated and is directly connected to the battery.

In the High Power Mode, the PA generates 25.5 dBm of Output Power while drawing 350 mA of current. In the Low Power Mode (LPM), the Output Power is 17 dBm with a current of 130 mA. The MAAPSS0076 has a typical power gain of 25.5 dB with an operating voltage of 1.8 to 3.6 V.
