L-3 Vertex Aerospace Awarded Naval Air Depot Maintenance Contract
New York, NY - L-3 Communications announced that its Vertex Aerospace (L-3 Vertex) subsidiary has been awarded a two-year, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract to provide Depot-Level Maintenance (DLM) work at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Depot North Island, San Diego, CA and other locations. The two-year contract is valued at up to $48M and was awarded by U.S. Navy Contracting Command, Point Mugu, CA.
L-3 Vertex personnel will augment the government's civil service workforce, performing DLM services, including airframe overhaul, painting and corrosion control, component overhaul and remanufacturing, on a variety of aircraft, according to the company. Aircraft to be supported will include the F/A-18C Hornet, F/A-18E Super Hornet, EA-6B Prowler, SH-60 Seahawk, UH-1N Huey, S-3B Viking, CH-53E Super Stallion, E-2C Hawkeye, AH-1W Cobra and the C-2A Greyhound.
78% of the work will be performed at North Island, which serves as NAVAIR's west coast aircraft depot specializing in the support of U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aircraft and related systems, according to L-3 Communications. Work will also be performed at Camp Pendleton, Lemoore, Point Mugu and Miramar, CA; Bremerton, WA; Kaneohe Bay, HI and Yuma, AZ.
