IPM-429-ELB ARINC 429 IndustryPack (IP) Module
The IPM-429 -ELB provides high channel density, large buffering capacity, labels selection and precise timing control of the ARINC429 avionics protocol on a single IndustryPack module. The IPM-429-ELB includes Loop Back circuitry for all transmitter ports.
On the transmitter side, an ARINC word and its associated transmit time and control word are sent to the the IP interface. Transmit time is one microsecond precision. Because the timing mechanism is handled by the internal logic, precise transmit time is always guarantied. The transmitter FIFO can contains up to 32 ARINC words per channels. The IPM-429-ELB in addition, allows monitoring of each transmitter port. Transmitters monitoring is implemented by the addition of dedicated receivers ports. Each transmitter line driver includes short-circuit protection.
The receivers uses a 32 bit, one microsecond resolution timer to tag the ARINC word received. Each receiver port can be programmed to capture only the desired ARINC 429 Labels. The receiver FIFO can contains up to 32 ARINC words per channels. Each receiver includes a parity and short-word error counter.
Two bit-rate generators are provided to control the operation of every port. Each port is programmed to operate at the high or the low rate. Two 9 bit programmable counters are used to generate the bit rate of the transmitters. Selecting the bit rate generator also fixes the rise and fall time of the transmitter ports.
IPack host interface is 16 bit, 32 Mhz frequency operation. The 32 Mhz frequency is required for high channel density configuration. The 8 Mhz version may be used for operation with low channel density configuration (2TX+2RX) on an IPack carrier that supports only 8 Mhz IP interface frequency.
The IPM-429-ELB when used with MAX Technologies' avionics enabled smart carriers and the powerful MX software services provides the utmost in terms performance, flexibility and transportability. For less demanding, host oriented applications, the IPM429-ELB IP module can be used on IndustryPack dumb carrier board.
