Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp.from Pratt & Whitney is a high-thrust turbofan engine designed to meet the needs of high-capacity, four-engine aircraft, such as the Airbus A3XX and Boeing 747-400 growth applications. Based on the PW4000, the engine's core features a high-pressure-ratio compressor, low emissions combustor and high-pressure turbine designed by GE.
The GP7200 family has a fan diameter of 110 inches and offers a thrust range of 67,000 to 80,000 pounds designed for the A3XX aircraft that will carry 555 to 656 passengers with a range of 7,650 to 8,750 nautical miles. For Boeing applications under study, the GP7100 engine has a fan diameter of 99 inches and a thrust range of 67,000 to 74,000 pounds.
