Herley Receives $3.6 Million Contract Award for ICAP III Program; Herley Will Supply Microwave Hardware to Northrop Grumman

LANCASTER, Pa., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Herley Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: HRLY - News) announced today that it has received a $3.6 million contract award to supply microwave hardware to Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems for the Increased Capability III (ICAP III) electronic attack jamming capability. ICAP III will replace the jamming system currently on the U.S. Navy EA-6B Prowler aircraft and will be the electronic attack system on the EA-18G, a variation of the F-18 that has been selected by the U.S. Navy to be the future aircraft that will replace the Prowler. As the only tactical electronic attack aircraft in the world, EA-6B Prowlers serve the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Army. The principal mission of the EA-6B is providing Electronic Attack support for the U.S. and allied air operations. ICAP III will also be a significant element in network-centric warfare. The aircrew will be able to share targeting data with other platforms and get a more complete tactical picture of the battlefield. John M.
