GE Superabrasives Introduces Borazon* CBN 1200 with Duplex Coating for Unmatched Field Results in High-Performance Resin Bonded Grinding Wheels
Borazon CBN 1200 is the latest development in a long string of highly successful coatings GE Superabrasives has introduced on Borazon CBN, cubic boron nitride crystals. High fracture strength and thermal stability combined with a proprietary duplex coating deliver extended wheel life and improved surface finishes in production grinding. At the same time energy consumption is significantly diminished.
Free Cutting, Resistant to Thermal Shock and Highly Adhesive to Resin Bond Matrixes
High fracture toughness enables Borazon CBN 1200 to stay whole, sharp and free cutting for an extended period of time. The crystals are designed to fracture less readily, but in a mode that keeps the desired free cutting characteristics active, maintaining low grinding forces that result in less power consumption. It's excellent thermal stability and roughly textured duplex coating guarantee rapid thermal transfer of heat away from the grinding zone and at the same time provides a strong adhesion of the crystal in the wheel's matrix. Each and every crystal can now be used to its full potential. The result is significantly prolonged grinding wheel life, increased material removal rates and reduced cycle times. Optimized crystal fracture characteristics, combined with increased particle retention in the grinding wheel matrix also produces finer surface finishes.
Borazon CBN 1200 is well suited for the grinding of hardened tool and alloy steels, as well as, cast iron and nickel and cobalt-based superalloys.
Production engineers looking for enhanced material removal rates, better surface finishes and longer tool life should ask their suppliers for resin bond grinding wheels manufactured with Borazon CBN 1200.
