GE Security's Explosives Detection System Selected By Toluca International Airport In Mexico

Bradenton, FL - GE Security, Inc., a business of GE Enterprise Solutions, recently announced its Homeland Protection business has sold two advanced technology CTX 9400 explosives detection systems (EDS) to Toluca International Airport (TLC) in Mexico. When deployed, the CTX 9400s will help ensure that Toluca's passengers benefit from the latest and most advanced CT-based EDS technology available in Mexico.
The CTX 9400 sale reinforces GE Security's EDS position in Latin America aviation security and reflects continued global adoption of its market-leading advanced technology, CT-based inline baggage screening solutions.
"GE Security is pleased to be selected by Aeropuerto Internacional de Toluca to supply our CTX 9400 advanced technology inline explosives detection systems to help them optimize security and improve operational efficiencies," said Dennis Cooke, president and CEO, GE Security's Homeland Protection business. "The selection of the CTX 9400 ensures that Toluca's passengers are benefiting from the very latest in baggage screening technology available anywhere in Mexico today."
"We are proud to be the first airport in Mexico to incorporate the most advanced baggage screening technology to our operations," said Alexandro Argudin, CEO of AMAIT (Administradora Mexiquense del Aeropuerto Internacional de Toluca). "The safety and security of our passengers is our number one priority and GE Security's advanced technology solutions are helping us provide both better security and service and a greater sense of confidence for all our passengers."
The CTX 9400 represents the first in an evolutionary series of enhancements that constitute GE's industry-leading Multi-Generational Product Plan (MGPP) for its CTX 9000 EDS line. The GE MGPP offers customers the ability to protect their baggage screening infrastructure investments by ensuring a continuing upgrade path to the latest EDS technologies through a series of regular new product releases. Both CTX 9000 DSis and CTX 9400s, whether purchased new or upgraded, will be upgradeable to future CTX releases, including the upcoming CTX 9800 DSi when it becomes available.
The CTX 9400 incorporates hardware and software upgrades to help customers achieve reduced false alarm rates, enhanced operational throughput and potentially lower total cost of ownership in highly automated, advanced technology inline EDS baggage screening systems.
