W.L. Gore & Associatesiber optic ribbon cables offer density, flexibility, flex life, and impact resistance to meet telecommunication market requirements. Through the use of the expanded PTFE buffering system, the cable can perform over 1,000 flex cycles on a ½ inch bend radius using standard gang connectors and splices.
The cables are designed for use with the company's 12 channel nLIGHTEN modules. Incorporating high speed VCSEL technology, these modules provide up to 1.5 Gbits/sec/channel over multimode ribbon fiber cable and an 8X improvement in density over standard 1x9 serial transceiver products. They are easily cabled using standard MPO ribbon fiber connectors (IEC 1754-7 and TIA/EIA 604-5).
