Filament winding is the process of placing or winding continuous fibers on a mandrel surface in a precise geometric pattern. By winding continuous strands of carbon, fiberglass or other material in very precise patterns, structures can be built with properties much stronger than steel and at much lower weights.

Originally filament winding was used to help produce missile casings and nose cones, but industries other than defense have discovered the strength and versatility of filament winding.

Entec Composite Machines (ECM) has produced machines for over 37 years and is the world's leading manufacturer of filament winding machines. ECM has built more multi-spindle filament winding machines than any other filament-winding manufacturer.

Being the industry leader, ECM changed the future of filament winding by building the first computer controlled filament-winding machine. The contributions made thereafter and the continued pursuit of technological innovations to filament winding has given ECM a reputation for producing the most durable and reliable winding machines on the market.

ECM has developed a system to determine which machine fits your needs. We believe that standard components build custom machines. By choosing the components you need to have this will determine which machine you purchase. For further questions please contact us.
