Fault Code Interrogation Of DEEC Data For Honeywell TFE731 Engines Now Available From Jet-Care International
CEDAR KNOLLS, NJ - Jet-Care International will begin offering its customers one of the most powerful diagnostic tools for engine condition monitoring of Honeywell TFE731 engines.
"It was apparent from a recent survey that it was of great interest for operators to have the DEEC download read in its entirety, and Jet-Care is pleased to announce today that we have succeeded in identifying all the fault codes that are registered within the DEECs," said Jet-Care CEO David Glass. "On each download operators enrolled into this additional service will receive a report from Jet-Care detailing all fault codes extracted from the DEEC. They will also receive an emergency call for those that are of critical importance. This is a program enhancement offered by Jet-Care to further support the TFE731 population."
Access to such data was one of the top requests of aviation industry executives, maintenance managers and pilots responding to this survey. Jet-Care was able to use data from over 130,000 previous DEEC (Digital Electronic Engine Control) downloads, in order to develop this enhanced service. It is a vital piece of information that helps operators avoid unexpected difficulties and expense and also provides a full history of performance in both buying and selling situations.
The new service will be available June 1, 2005. There are approximately 3,000 aircraft with DEECs in operation.
"All DEEC downloads will be archived, allowing the operator to investigate the entire history of the engine," Glass said. "This is a great advantage for pre-buys, and for showing evidence of a well-maintained aircraft in which faults have been rectified. It further enhances and hopefully increases the operational efficiency of 731-powered aircraft."
Jet-Care is marketing the program to customers for an additional $1,000 per airframe for all operators, regardless of fleet size. Three engine aircraft will be charged at $1,300. Four engine aircraft will be charged at $1600.00.
Glass pointed out that the Honeywell maintenance manual instructs operators of aircraft with DEECs to read all of the downloads. "This additional Jet-Care DEEC program allows the downloads to be read by a second person and, of course, stores and records all the data. This does not remove responsibility from the operator who should still review the data as per OEM instruction."
This important development in comprehensive engine analysis is just one of several important announcements made here in Geneva at EBACE 2005 by Jet-Care International.
With over 25 years' experience, Jet-Care is recognized worldwide as the premier condition monitoring company in aviation. In addition to the Gas Path Analysis program, Jet-Care and sister company Spectro offer oil analysis programs which provide a highly reliable means of checking the metal content and other contamination within the oil system. Jet-Care uses the industry's most advanced techniques and equipment including SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopes) and ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) spectrometers and analyzes not just PPM (parts per million) but down to one part per 100 million. Additional services include debris, fuel, filter and hydraulic fluid analysis.
To ease and enhance customer interpretation of results, Jet-Care provides its proprietary Engine Condition Health Online (ECHO™) software for both its laboratory and gas path analysis programs.
Since 1976, Jet-Care and its sister-company Spectro have been providing valuable information about engine condition trend monitoring. Today, Jet-Care monitors the health of more than 13,000 engines, in over 72 countries, seven days per week, 24 hours a day.
