EMRISE Receives $1.2 M Electronic Devices Order For In-Flight Entertainment And Connectivity (IFE&C) Products

Durham, NC (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - EMRISE CORPORATION (OTCQB:EMRI), a multi-national manufacturer of defense and aerospace electronic devices and communications equipment, today announced that it has received a $1.2 million order for electronic devices to be used in In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFE&C) systems to be installed in commercial aircraft. The order was received from a longstanding customer by the Company's Pascall Electronics Ltd. subsidiary in England. Shipments of the order are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2013 and continue through 2014.

EMRISE Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Carmine T. Oliva said the industry-wide demand for advanced IFE&C systems from domestic and international carriers remains strong, driven in part by the emerging rebound in the financial performance of the global airline industry.

"In addition to increasing efficiency and reducing costs, airlines continue to seek additional revenue sources that enhance a passenger's travel experience," Oliva said.  "We believe the airline industry's need for additional sources of profitable revenue will continue to be a major factor behind the industry's demand for new multimedia IFE&C systems."

Today's advanced IFE&C systems are now being installed in both new and existing short- and long-haul aircraft and they can deliver to the passenger seat a variety of multimedia entertainment features including satellite television and a number of communications features such as GSM for in-flight mobile phone use and Broadband for access to Internet, e-mail and messaging services.
