Data Link Management Unit

The DLM-900 data link management unit is designed to support an array of capabilities within the Air Traffic Management System. It transmits the position information in real time to the requester, for increased airborne and ground decision making efficiency. Through an interface to Satcom and HF Data Link, the unit simplifies en route course deviation requests to Air Traffic Control. The unit automatically transmits aircraft condition data to maintenance crews to enable quick and planned maintenance. The software certification requirements are met by providing a partitioned architecture that will support DO-178B with both Level C and D capability. This allows changes to be made to nonessential AOC software without affecting the essential Air Traffic Management and Core software.
