Courpron to Replace Retiring Tomassetti as CEO of Airbus North America

Nick Tomassetti, president and CEO of Airbus Industrie of North America (AINA; Herndon, VA), will retire March 31, the company announced recently. Henri Courpron, currently AINA senior VP of sales and marketing, will succeed Tomassetti.

Tomassetti joined Airbus in 1994. He began his career at Pratt & Whitney in 1961 and served in engineering, marketing and customer support capacities. He was named VP marketing for International Aero Engines in 1984 and president in 1987. He returned to Pratt & Whitney as executive VP before joining McDonnell Douglas Corporation.

Courpron joined AINA in 1992 as director-contracts and was named senior VP of sales and marketing in 1998. Previously he was based at Airbus Industrie in Toulouse, France where he was contracts manager. He began his career with Aerospatiale-Matra in 1989.
