The unit can be integrated with UNS-1 Flight Management Systems for control and display. Its menu-format operation provides access for sending or receiving data. Capabilities include messaging, flight plan up-loading, pre-departure clearances, automatic position reporting, ETA updates, digital ATIS, and test weather information.
The module is housed in a 1-MCU sized box, weighing just over 3.5 pounds, or 4.8 pounds with internal VHF, and can support single, dual or triple FMS installations.
