Custom Engine Stand Offers Significant Improvements in Small Engine Serviceability

Springfield, OH (PRWEB) - Champion GSE, a full-service producer of engine stands and containers, has announced a new custom-built engine stand designed to service small aircraft engines. The new engine stand design provides significant improvements in small aircraft engine serviceability.

The small aircraft engine stand has a 600-pound capacity and is also capable of supporting any general aviation engine weighing less than 600 pounds, including helicopter engines, when supplemented with engine mounting adapters that replicate original equipment manufacturer (OEM) adapters. The stand includes a durable gearbox to facilitate 180-degree engine rotation; heavy-duty, lockable castors; a drip pan to eliminate hazards; and a parts tray.

“All the things we requested to be included that we deemed essential to the functionality of the stand were designed perfectly into the unit,” said Chip McClellan, vice president and COO of Pinnacle Aircraft Engines. “Specifically, the gearbox capable of rotating a 600-pound engine, heavy-duty castors as we move the engines around and the parts rack on one end are all great additions.”

The small aircraft engine stand is ideal for small aircraft engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities, aircraft OEMs, aircraft owners and airport fixed-base operators. The stand can be used for engine maintenance, engine overhauls and engine build-ups.

“We worked very closely with Pinnacle to determine aspects of the old design that needed updates or improvements,” said Champion GSE Vice President and General Manager Todd DeVore. “The feedback we get directly from engine manufacturers is critical as we continue designing engine stands that make repairing and transporting engines cost effective, safe and efficient.”

Champion GSE also recently debuted its breakthrough dual-purpose engine stand. Another industry first, this new engine stand can be used for both the GEnx-1B and -2B engine platforms.
