Cessna Aircraft Delivers 100th Citation X
Ted Townsend, president of Townsend Engineering (Des Moines, IA) took delivery of the 100th Cessna Citation X aircraft at ceremonies at Cessna's Wichita, KS, headquarters.

Townsend Engineering, manufactures food processing and hot dog and sausage manufacturing equipment. It was founded in 1945 and employs 275 people in five manufacturing facilities located in Iowa, Spain, Holland, Italy and Russia.

"We have operated business aircraft for more than 20 years, and consider it to be an essential tool for our growing business," Townsend said.

Cessna launched the Citation X program in 1990 and certified the aircraft with the ability to cruise at Mach .92 or about 600 miles per hour. The airplane entered service with the first retail delivery in August 1996.
