B767-400ER wins FAA common type rating

B767-400ER wins FAA common type rating
The Boeing 767-400ER (extended range) received FAA flight-crew qualification endorsement, which means that the 767-400ER shares the same type rating with existing 767-200 and -300 airplanes and a common type rating with the 757-200 and -300.

Pilots qualified to fly the 767-200, -300 and 757-200 and -300 are now qualified - with some additional instruction - to fly the -400ER. Boeing says that more than 26 airline operate both aircraft and will have greater flexibility in assigning flight crews and will benefit from similar maintenance procedures, manuals and inspection requirements, and reduced spares inventories.

Delta Air Lines and Continental Airlines will take delivery of their first Boeing 767-400ERs this month.
