ARINC Installs New iMUSE™ Technology at Munich Airport
Annapolis, Maryland, USA, July 21, 2003—ARINC Incorporated has deployed its advanced iMUSETM passenger technology at the newly-completed Terminal 2 of Munich Airport, a major hub of Lufthansa Airlines in southern Germany. The installation of 446 new common-use passenger workstations plus peripherals—among the largest such projects in Europe—was completed on-time and on-budget for ARINC's customer, the T2 Operating Company, Ltd.
It is the seventh trouble-free launch of ARINC's iMUSE passenger technology in twelve months. The iMUSE installation at Munich Terminal 2 uses Windows® 2000 for efficient operation and to provide a robust local IP network capability for use by the airport and airlines. iMUSE is the only common-use passenger system currently boarding passengers with both the Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems.
Siegfried Schulz, Lufthansa Senior Manager responsible for the installation of the project, said, "The cooperation of all parties in delivering this important system in Lufthansa's major Southern German hub has been extremely effective, and I thank all parties for their dedication and hard work."
Michael Zaddach, Vice President Information Systems for Munich International Airport (FMG), commented, "The huge T2 project further demonstrates the commitment of FMG

and its shareholders to improving the air transport infrastructure in Bavaria and to building up a second major hub in Germany. FMG was pleased to choose ARINC to deliver this common-use project, and ARINC's professionalism during the installation proves we were right in our decision."
A launch party was held June 27 to celebrate the opening of Munich Airport Terminal 2. Richard Green, ARINC Senior Director, Airport Systems and Services, said "ARINC is grateful to FMG and Lufthansa for awarding us this prestigious contract. The flawless installation at Terminal 2 is the first step of what we believe will be a successful long-term relationship here at Munich. To prove our continuing commitment, we have opened a dedicated office at Munich airport to support the further development of our business in Central Europe."
At Munich Terminal 2, the iMUSE local IP network will allow the airport and airlines to deploy important new IP productivity applications such as company intranets, e-mail services, and back-office systems. The recent trouble-free deployment of iMUSE at seven airports across four continents demonstrates ARINC's advanced IP technology is stable, mature, and well-matched to the needs of today's aviation industry.
The ARINC MUSE® family of passenger systems is now found at more than 50 airports worldwide, and used by 260 airlines carrying more than 300 million passengers per year.
