American Airlines Makes Senior Maintenance Appointments

- William C. Culhane, VP maintenance and engineering negotiations. Culhane currently is VP line maintenance and is a 31-year veteran of the airline.
- Gregory F. Hall, VP line maintenance, succeeds Culhane and has responsibility for maintenance operations on American's fleet of 700 jetliners. He is currently VP Tulsa Base Maintenance. During 12 years at the airline, he worked in technical services, line maintenance, heavy overhaul maintenance, quality assurance and was VP M&E for American Eagle.
- Carmine J. Romano, VP Tulsa Base maintenance, succeeds Hall, and will direct activities at the Tulsa aircraft and engine overhaul base. He is currently managing director M&E Tulsa Business Unit 5/6, overseeing heavy maintenance activities on MD11, DC10, A300 and 757 aircraft, plus contract maintenance for other airlines. Romano joined American as a line mechanic in New York in 1968 and transferred to Tulsa in 1977.
- Randall H. Phillips, VP engineering/quality assurance replaces Huffman. He joined American in 1977 and has held a variety of engineering management roles.
