America West Recruits FedEx Manager as VP, Line Maintenance

America West Airlines (Phoenix, AZ) named David C. Slonim as VP of line maintenance. Slonim will oversee all aspects of line maintenance for the airline's fleet of 126 aircraft, including Boeing 737s and 757s and Airbus A319s and A320s.

Slonim was with FedEx for 14 years, where he held a variety of maintenance management positions, most recently as VP of aircraft line maintenance. He started his aviation career more than 33 years ago in the U.S. Marine Corps and also worked for Beechcraft.
