Eaton Corporationr Engineering nose wheel steering systems are suitable for steer-by-wire or mechanical system application. Actuation techniques include rotary drive, linear piston, or rack and pinion. The systems can be designed to provide 360° swivel capability, +80° active steering, 2,000 to 3,000 In-lb. Torque output, and damping to 80,000 In-lb./rad2/sec2. Features include active rate control, variable rate and steering authority based on aircraft ground speed, as well as maintenance aids such as fault reporting to aircraft diagnostic computer and EICAS, and automatic rigging.
