PENTAR Avionicsis a network server designed specifically for corporate aircraft and regional airlines. The server, a Pentium-based computer running Windows NT Server software, is housed in a small stand-alone aluminum case hardened for aircraft use. The processor unit is designed to be mounted remotely in a convenient location in the cabin. Using an Ethernet hub, any onboard laptop may communicate with the server using Ethernet wiring installed in the cabin. The server package includes a removable hard drive and provides serial, parallel and Ethernet interfaces.

PENTAR Avionicsallows the corporate aircraft to have the same type of local area network that businesses are accustomed to in their home office. Normal operations such as file and print sharing are accommodated. An optional modem interface and an airborne telephone provide the server with the ability to become an e-mail and Internet gateway.

PENTAR Avionicscabin server can interface to a variety of cabin and aircraft subsystems, allowing it to be used for many applications including operational aircraft data logging and airborne corporate information and management.
