Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp.on Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) System brings airborne travelers the same digital TV quality and full-spectrum live television programming that is available on home-based DBS systems. With the system, airborne travelers can enjoy a range of live, digital TV programming including the best of sports, entertainment and news. It receives Ku-band radio frequency signals (which contain scores of programming channels) from direct broadcast satellites then converts, selects and provides audio/video signals (two or more independent channels) to the aircraft's in-flight entertainment (IFE) or cabin management system. In aircraft with multiple monitors, individual passengers can select the programs they prefer using a remote control or keypad.
