Adacel Selected For US Army Air Traffic Control Common Simulator Program
Adacel has been selected by the US Army for the Air Traffic Control Common Simulator (ACS) Program; which will be used by US Army and Guard units to procure ATC simulation systems, hardware and software support, and training services. The ACS program will provide a single simulation air traffic control baseline for all Army and Guard units to train on.
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) - Adacel announced today that the company has been selected by the US Army for the Air Traffic Control Common Simulator (ACS) Program. This initial award is a 5-year Basic Purchasing Agreement (BPA) which will be used to procure simulation systems, hardware and software support, and training services. The ACS program will provide a single simulation air traffic control baseline for all Army and Guard units to train on both at home and when deployed to forward locations. Adacel estimates the value of this award will be $10 million dollars or more over the 5 year term.
The simulators will be deployed to multiple military locations throughout the world and the simulation systems contract will be based on Adacel’s high-fidelity MaxSim Tower and Radar suites. Each simulator can support two operator positions simultaneously and can be connected together for collective tower and radar training scenarios. Adacel’s simulators will provide the immersive, high-fidelity graphics environment needed to maintain the high state of readiness available today.
“We are honored to be selected for the Army ACS Program and look forward to continuing our long-term partnership to ensure that Army controllers in the field have the best training technology available now and in the future,” said Seth Brown, Adacel CEO.
Adacel’s ATC simulation systems have proven to be effective in the training of military and civilian air traffic controllers in the US. The Department of Defense will be able to save precious resources by taking full advantage of Adacel’s training technology already deployed throughout the other branches of the US Military and the Federal Aviation Administration. The simulators are designed to provide air traffic controllers with realistic hands-on practice that reinforces learning from the basics of phraseology and communications through the advanced skills required to be a fully qualified Army controller as well as provide proficiency training allowing controllers to maintain their certifications.
