8-Bit Parallel Data System Interface Components

The HI-8783, HI-8784, and HI-8785 are system components for interfacing 8-bit parallel data to the ARINC 429 avionics bus. Several versions are available with built-in analog line drivers for direct interface to the ARINC bus. The components feature automatic conversion of 8-bit parallel data to 429, 575, and 561 data, as well as high-speed parallel 8-bit data bus and direct analog interface to the ARINC bus in the 8784 and 8785 models.

Digital output slope control, reset input for power-on initialization, and 32nd transmitted bit selectable as either parity or data are additional features. Model 8785 allows for simplified lightning protection with the ability to add 27.5 ohm external series resistors to each ARINC output. The devices come in small plastic SOIC and DIP packages and offer lower power CMOS, as well as industrial and full military temperature ranges.
