Structural Research & Analysis Corp.S/EMS is a new Windows-based 3D-field simulator for low frequency electromagnetic / electromechanical applications. The simulator is designed to help engineers gain physical insight into the performance of their designs through the computation of parameters such as torques, forces, fields, currents, inductances, capacitances, flux linkages, current losses, and electrical stresses. Based on the finite element method (FEM), the system solves physical equations directly without any simplifications or assumptions.

Powered by robust solvers that are up to 100 times faster than conventional technologies, the simulator can be used in a variety of applications, including insulators, circuit breakers, power generators, transformers, electric motors, capacitors, magnetic levitation devices, synchronous machines, DC machines, permanent magnet motors, actuators, and solenoids.

The system is fully embedded in COSMOS/DesignSTAR, which interfaces with CAD and solid modeling packages such as Autodesk Mechanical Desktop, Inventor, SolidEdge, and SolidWorks.
