The Airborne Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation is located in Elyria, Ohio.

In the late 1950s, the Airborne Manufacturing Company was founded and grew from a small, highly specialized subcontract machining organization to a supplier of air pumps and other pneumatic products for general aviation piston-engine aircraft. In 1965, Airborne moved from Shaw Avenue in Cleveland to the newly refurbished Elyria Lace Company building located on Taylor Street in Elyria, Ohio.

In the 1960s, Airborne expanded its business by developing and manufacturing a unique line of wet DC motor-driven fuel pumps for general aviation piston- and turbine-powered aircraft and helicopters.

In the mid 1970s, Airborne entered the pneumatic valve business by developing and manufacturing bleed air valves for use on general aviation turboprop and business jet aircraft. This new business was further expanded in the late 1970s with the purchase of a line of bleed air valves from Sundstrand Corp.

In 1979, Parker Hannifin Corporation acquired Airborne Manufacturing Company, and is now known as the Airborne Division of Parker Aerospace. Parker Hannifin favorably influenced Airborne's growth by encouraging new product development, authorizing funding for a building expansion and the purchase of new equipment and assisting Airborne in its entry into the military and foreign markets.

The general aviation market is supported by the Division's in house customer support team and worldwide network of independent distributors. Airborne supports the military market through the Customer Support Organization (CSO) of Parker Aerospace.
