Minneapolis, MN - Honeywell recently introduced the Rotary Variable Differential Transformer (RVDT) Position Transmitter. The RVDT is a multi-purpose, environmentally sealed, dual redundant device with a self-rigging mechanism. With compatible performance specifications, this new product boasts a 25% reduction in both weight and volume over comparable devices. This type of product has been available in the North American marketplace for over 50 years, and has been slightly customized for European customer introduction.

This product is part of the aerospace position sensors family, developed for the European aerospace marketplace. The product is fully engineered and built to specification by aircraft program. Potential applications include position sensing for primary or secondary flight controls and rotary sensing on aircraft. Most aircraft use between 4 and 8 sensors each.

The special features of this product include simplified repair & maintenance. Fewer parts allow for faster maintenance activities, and utilize no brushes or slip-rings to deliver true non-contact measurement and enhanced reliability.

RVDT Position Sensor is supplied standard with fork-style interface, integral rig-lock feature, twin bayonet connectors and a flange mounting. It has enhanced reliability, and comes with the industry and engineering expertise of the Honeywell brand.
