LaBarge Receives Additional $15M Orders

St. Louis, MO - LaBarge, Inc. has received $15M in follow-on orders from Eclipse Aviation Corporation to continue providing wiring harnesses for the Eclipse 500, a very light jet (VLJ). In April 2006, LaBarge announced it had received initial orders of approximately $10M under a multiyear agreement with Eclipse.

According to the company, LaBarge is building more than 80 different complex wiring harnesses that function in the Eclipse 500's electronic systems related to fuel monitoring, landing gear, engine and cockpit functionality among others. The new order will continue production at LaBarge's Berryville, Ark., and Joplin, Mo. facilities through late calendar 2008.

The Eclipse 500 received full Type Certification from the Federal Aviation Administration on Sept. 30, 2006. Suitable for up to six occupants, the aircraft is a dynamic, new VLJ designed and manufactured by Eclipse Aviation. It was designed to provide aircraft owners with the performance and safety of a twin-engine, jet-powered airplane at a fraction of the price. In addition, unlike larger corporate jets, the Eclipse 500 can be flown to thousands of smaller airports throughout the United States, allowing passengers to move directly between multiple cities. To date, Eclipse has received orders for more than 2,500 Eclipse 500s.
