ARINC Launches First XML Desktop Messaging Solution For The Air Travel Industry

Annapolis, Maryland - ARINC Incorporated recently opened a new era in business messaging with AviNet Xmail, the first desktop XML messaging solution for the air travel industry. Developed in partnership with middleware specialist Magoo Software, AviNet Xmail uses the innovative MagooClient XML desktop.

AviNet Xmail service will be available immediately to ARINC's aviation network customers. Its familiar desktop environment allows airline and operations staff to easily edit and exchange modern XML and TypeX messages with their business partners, without affecting any existing legacy Type B services.

"We selected MagooClient as the desktop platform for AviNet Xmail because of its connectivity and flexibility," stated Jon Floyd, ARINC AviNet Business & Product Development Manager. "Our customers can now integrate Xmail with their legacy messaging systems and migrate to modern XML messaging at their own pace. They will also enjoy secure, direct access to the AviNet eXchange network, AviNet Mail, and AviNet MQ messaging."

"Magoo Software is extremely pleased ARINC has chosen MagooClient as its desktop client for the air travel industry," stated John McGuire, CEO of Magoo Software. "This validates all our efforts in bringing MagooClient to market as the industry's first XML desktop. Beyond the pure messaging environment, MagooClient gives AviNet Xmail customers easy access to many services-based business processes as well." Advanced templates and transforms in AviNet Xmail enable the single interface to serve for all messaging, both industry and corporate. Adaptable user modes allow business and operations staff to edit message content without any special XML knowledge. Advanced template support offers productivity gains through user-created, pre-filled forms, while automatic form validation reduces errors.

AviNet Xmail combines the cost-efficiency of XML applications integration with the rigorous reliability, security, and scalability demanded by the aviation industry. The lower cost of XML development and maintenance is expected to have a dramatic impact in the aviation industry, which sends tens of millions of messages daily.

Magoo Software is a privately-held company with offices in Dublin and London, specializing in XML, BPEL and Web Services middleware. The company's technology allows user interaction to be quickly and easily added to Service Oriented Architectures. Magoo's first offering, MagooClient, enables business users to send, receive and edit XML messages without need for XML knowledge. It combines XML Messaging, Editing, and Scripting to enable easy integration of tasks into business processes. For further information, visit the web site at www.magoosoft.com.
