Recent years has seen the growing trend of passengers using lap top computers during flight. Operators marketing information has shown that the inability to recharge their batteries is a frustration to the business traveller, especially on long-haul flights.

To overcome this problem, Page have designed and developed an aerospace standard power supply which converts 115 V a.c. to 15 V d.c.. The 15 V d.c. is routed to an in-seat socket, either a hypertronics or car cigarette lighter type socket, into which the passengers plug their lap top computers provided they have the appropriate car adaptor power block for their computer.

Through an additional unit, cabin staff can control the availability, or prioritise the power to passengers between first, business and economy travellers as appropriate.
