Coalition For Space Exploration Launches All New Web Site
Houston, TX - The Coalition for Space Exploration recently launched an all-new Web site at www.SpaceCoalition.com. The organization's upgraded site provides visitors with authoritative original content, direct access to industry experts and useful collections of links to some of the most respected space-related Web sites. The all-inclusive site maintains a calendar of space industry events, showcases book reviews of space-related publications, and allows visitors to join and participate in the Coalition's own social networking group.
"Our goal is to inspire our visitors about the wonder of space, educate them about the people and programs involved and equip them to share the benefits of space exploration," said Mary Engola, chair of the Coalition's Public Affairs Team.
In addition to a vast array of space exploration content and links to top space sites, www.SpaceCoalition.com also has in-depth sections geared to specific users like teachers, young students and children.
The "Education Station" area offers lesson plans, activities and resources for teaching science, English, math, social studies and other subject areas using space sciences, astronomy, earth sciences, aeronautics and engineering/technology.
In addition to "Education Station," other content areas include:
- "Exploration: Human, Robotics, Science" – This section explores both the human and robotic investigation of our surrounding universe.
- "Why Space?" – This section examines the economic benefits of the space program to the U.S. economy, including a section that highlights tangible benefits used in everyday life.
- "Social Networking" – This section is geared to high school and university students, and young professionals. It reveals aerospace industry career information, and directs visitors to the Coalition's presence on MySpace, YouTube and Facebook. Visitors can also download audio and video podcasts as well as respond to survey questions and immediately view the results.
- "Kids Space" – This section, built specifically for children, offers downloadable images and space screensavers, links to NASA's site for young children, science fair resources and videos from other children.
The site will be continually updated with new content. Veteran and award-winning aerospace writers Leonard David and Jim Banke will be featured contributors and hosts of the Coalition's blog. Production of the Web site will be handled by Houston-based Griffin Integrated Marketing.
